ACTIVITY SCHEDULE Upon entering the park you will receive a schedule sheet telling the times of all animal shows, Dino Digs, and giraffe and parrot feedings. ANIMAL SHOWS We offer two different live animal shows every day from May 1 through Labor Day. (No shows in the fall.) Wildlife Encounters Show Claws 'N' Paws staff present a lively and entertaining show featuring mainly reptiles. You'll learn a few interesting facts about each creature and get a close-up view as keepers circulate through the audience and give you the opportunity to pet the python and alligator. (Don't worry! It's safe!) Critters Show Here you will see and get close to a variety of baby animals and colorful birds. Lucy, the beautiful Hyacinth macaw, an endangered species, makes her entrance by flying over the audience's heads. Animals seen in this show will vary. In previous years we have brought out baby raccoons, skunks, porcupines, wallabies, lemurs, hedgehogs, and some lively parrots that talk and do a trick or two. PETTING ZOO Go right in with tame deer, lambs, and goats. Pet them and give them a hug! LORY PARROT FEEDING (May 1 to October 27, 2002) At scheduled times each day, visitors may enter the lory parrot aviary and mingle with the birds. We give you a chunk of apple and the colorful, friendly lories fly over, land on you and eat from the apple. This is a very exciting experience! Lories are small parrots found mainly in Australia and Indonesia. Our birds, by nature friendly and inquisitive, were bred in this country and hand- raised to be especially sweet and gentle. They have their own unique, quirkly personalities and tend to look upon human beings as great big bird toys put on earth for their entertainment. Claws 'N' Paws was the first zoo on the east coast to open a lory feeding area. Many visitors return again and again just to go in with these delightful birds. Don't miss it!
